Principles of tai chi, Practical pointers Jun 18, 2009
By D. Harris Wu T'ai Chi, Kao Style as practiced and taught by Margaret Emerson, is a valuable tool for any student of t'ai chi; it includes a thoughtful discussion of t'ai chi principles, as well as practical pointers. Margy's insights have certainly enhanced my study of t'ai chi and reinforced its relevance to everyday life. In addition to the discussion, Margy demonstrates the entire sequence, then teaches each movement step-by-step. The demonstration is beautiful--luminous--and an expression of the integrity, harmony, and grace of the form. Her instructions are concise and easy to follow. The split screen format allows the viewer to see her movements from both directions and clearly illustrates her verbal directions. I highly recommend Margaret Emerson's DVD, whether one is interested in the principles of t'ai chi or in the specific movements of this beautiful Wu style form.

The White Mountain Bird; Stretching Her Wings Jun 16, 2009

Margaret Emerson takes a seemingly difficult subject and makes it easily understood by the beginner as well as for anyone who wishes to smarten up their style. The sound quality and photography are excellent.
